Libraries are not only to provide information resources and references for its users, but also has the responsibility to let users know their rights in using its ` resources and protecting their rights. Although some libraries are protecting the privacy of their patrons, yet libraries cannot ensure that personal information will remain confidential. Hence, patrons must therefore have sufficient information to make informed decisions about release of personnel data.
