Background: Arterial stiffness is a physiologic quantitative value used to measure arterial compliance. It is predictive of coronary atherosclerosis in patients with intermediate to high cardiovascular risk. However, a correlation between arterial stiffness and subclinical coronary atherosclerosis has yet to be established.
