ABSTRACT: A design of a ultra wideband printed microstrip antenna which was fed by a microstrip transmission line for the wireless communication is presented in this paper. All the design parameters like dimensions of strip, position of antenna, thickness of substrate and selection of dielectric material are optimized for the suitable VSWR characteristics, required downlink frequency (2.0 GHz to2.4 GHz) and gain of 3db with the efficiency of 74%. The antenna parameters like radiation pattern, input impedance, current distribution and gain are obtained by simulating the designed antenna using IE3D Zeland Software
