Since the recent, very tangible manifestations of the multiple crises in our economic, environ-mental, and social systems, there is increasing recognition of the need to change how we do things. This has led to the more regular use of words such as tran-sition, transformation, and eco-innovation, es-pecially in areas of en-vironmental and in-dustrial research but also in economic con-texts. This is very good news if, behind these words of renewal, peo-ple intend to address the fundamental prob-lems in the systems and mentalities that helped to create the crises in the first place.
