Data transport in the Internet is managed by a large number of network operators, who independently own and operate physically and logically separated networks (autonomous systems, Crémer et al. 2000). Interconnection of these networks is a prerequisite for the large scope and accessibility of the Internet. Since network operators have commercial interests, interconnection is subject to market mechanism
