Abstract—As current studies show, in the last couple of years software functionality of modern cars has increased dramatically. This growth will gradually increase the system complexity, because the new functionality is more and more interconnected. To cope with this process, it is necessary to change the current electrics and electronics (E/E) architecture. An adequate run-time environment (RTE) is the heart of such a new E/E architecture and orchestrates the interaction and communication between the components in such systems.
