Cadmium oxide (CdO) thin films were grown on glass substrates by the successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) technique. The effect of solution concentration on the structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of the as deposited samples was analyzed. The structural studies reveal that the films are polycrystalline with preferred orientation along the (2 0 0) plane. The lattice parameter was found to be equal to 4.690 Ǻ. Grain size increases from 15.96 nm to 21 nm as the solution concentration increases. Optical absorption measurements showed that films coated with 0.05 M showed a maximum transmittance of 84 %.
