Corrosion inhibition of 2-((5-Mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-ylimino)methyl- 6-methoxy) phenol Schiff base (MTMMP) as a new and effective corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1M HCl was investigated by means of weight loss (WL), potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results show that the MTMMP Schiff base has excellent inhibition efficiency for mild steel in 1M HCl. The inhibition efficiency increases with the increase inhibitor concentration, and decreases with increasing temperature in the studied temperature range.
