In this study, the performance of a solar combisystem with a long-term thermal storage capacity is investigated. The system is designed to supply hot water for a radiant floor heating system and domestic hot water for one year, using exclusively the solar energy. Using the simulation environment TRNSYS, the model simulates a typical one-storey detached house located in Montreal to estimate the impact of a cold climate. Simulation results show that, starting with the second year, the system is able to cover a whole year of heating and domestic hot water energy requirements without the need of any auxiliary heating element
