Through desk review and indeep interviews with women and men leaders in Vietnam, this article argues that women’s polotical participation is an essential dimemsion of social equality througth three parts. The first part examines four theoretical frameworks, which are Gender and Development (GAD), Feminism on Gender equality, human right appoach, and sustainable development approach. The second part analyzes women’s political participation in Vietnam through current statistics.
