Organic farming may be one of the most powerful tools in the fight against global warming. Findings from The Rodale Institute’s Farming Systems Trial® (FST), which began in 1981 as the longest running agronomic experiment designed to compare organic and conventional cropping systems, show that organic/regenerative agriculture systems reduce carbon dioxide, a major greenhouse gas.
