Three-dimensional simulations of circulation in the San Francisco Estuary were performed with the three-dimensional unstructured grid hydrodynamic model UnTRIM. The model was developed to support the Delta Risk Management Strategy (DRMS) funded by the California Department of Water Resources. The model applications build on previous TRIM and UnTRIM applications. A model grid consisting of quadrilaterals and triangles was developed that extends from the Pacific Ocean through San Francisco Bay and further into the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta than previous TRIM and UnTRIM applications.
