project aims to demonstrate a new way of train path allocation and assembly along international corridors towards a faster and more coordinated railway infrastructure capacity management. PARTNER will assist two neighbour infrastructure managers to develop a common understanding of the effects of international train paths. The results of a survey of European infrastructure managers and railway undertakings are one basis of the project work that is discussed in the present chapter. Further, the chapter explains how PARTNER will create a timetable planners virtual network where heterogeneous workstations share information directly, without the need of dedicated central servers
