Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common tachy-arrhythmia in clinical practice, and is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular complication and mor-tality.1 Several risk factors, such as old age, male sex, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, valvular disease, is-chemic heart disease, heart failure, obesity, and ele-vated inflammatory marker concentrations have been proposed to increase the occurrences of AF,2 which con-tribute to high healthcare system utilization rates and socio-economic costs.3 Therefore, diagnosis and treat-ment AF is of substantial clinical value.
