In this paper we present a new method that allows for the simultaneous identification and quantification of dopamine(DA) and uric acid (UA) by square-wave adsorptive stripping voltammetry. Safranine O was electropolymerised on a glassy carbon electrode and then characterised by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), UV-visible and FT-IR spectroscopy. The electrochemical properties and applications of the modified electrode were studied. In the simultaneous determination of aforementioned two analytes using SW-AdSV, the electrochemical signals were well separated into two oxidation peaks with peak potential differences of 0.176 V (DA–UA).
