1 MICROFORM LOCATION GUIDE

Library and Wolff Comparative and International Law Library on all areas of the law and interdisciplinary topics of interest. Microform means photographic reproduction of material in a size too small to be read without a means of magnification. The format provides a way for the library to collect and maintain materials too fragile, bulky, or unavailable to collect in the original printed format (for example newspapers, magazines, or rare books). Our collection contains two microform formats, microfiche and microfilm. Microfiche are 4x6 or 3x5 film “sheets ” (or cards) holding between 40 and 98 pages per microfiche sheet. Microfilm is 16 " or 35 " film on reels which often replicates larger format titles like newspapers. The Williams ’ Library microforms collection is located in the Media Services Room on the first floor. The Wolff microform collection is located on the upper level of the Wolff Library; please consult the Wolff Microform guide for more information on this collection. Several reader-printers are available that allow patrons to read, print copies, or capture electronic images of either microform format at no cost.
