We present the development of an inductor tool that allows designers to correlate between the geometrical dimensions and the electrical properties of a spiral inductor. We have demonstrated that using a DOE approach and EM simulations only a relatively small set of inductor test structures needs to be measured for validating this inductor tool that accurately predicts the inductor electrical properties. The implementation of this inductor tool in the circuit simulator for design automation is discussed
