Planning resources for a supply chain is a major factor determining its success or fail-ure. In this paper we take an existing In-terval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic resource planning model, and compare the performance of a Genetic Algorithm, Simulated Annealing, the Great Deluge Algorithm and hybrid op-timisation methods combining the GA with each of the other methods. Each method is used to search for good resource plans that meet a service level requirement while min-imising cost. A discussion of the results of the experiment is given along with consider-ations for future research.
