In a partial response to the increased emphasis by business schools to integrate multicultural studies into their curriculums, faculty-led study abroad programs have grown in both frequency and duration. The research has shown that study abroad programs do show measurable gains in a student’s intellectual development. However, while the number of students participating in study abroad programs is increasing, the majority of the student population will not take advantage of these opportunities. The purpose of this research is to determine some of the factors that influence, both positively and negatively, a student’s participation decision.
