One most important parameter for assessing the quality of service (QoS) in a network is the probability of dropped calls, which has so far not been deeply studied within the context of established cellular networks. This paper therefore studies the effect of call dropping on cell traffic parameters. First, it derives an analytical model for multiple cells and discusses how the various cell parameters affect the system’s performance. Second, a qualitative (GIS) solution showing the distribution of cells traffic over the study area is presented to verify the state of the system. Third, the effectiveness of our methodology is validated by simulating the proposed model. Simulation results revealed a fifty percent (50%) reduction in dropped call...
