Background: Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is char-acterized by deficits in self-regulation, including impulsivity and affective instability. Transference-focused psychotherapy (TFP) is an evidence-based treatment with proven effective-ness in reducing symptoms across multiple cognitive-emotional domains in patients with BPD.
