Task 4A was part of the Habitat Development Project (HDP) and had as its objective the development and testing of the environmental and economic feasibility of using dredged material as a substrate for marsh development. 2. Marsh development using dredged material was investigated by the HDP under both laboratory and field conditions. This report, "Habitat Development Field Investigations, Bolivar Peninsula Marsh and Upland Habitat Development Site, Galveston Bay, Texas; Summary Report " (Work Unit 4A13K), summarizes the activities that occurred during marsh and upland habitat development studies in Galveston County, Texas, between 1975 and 1977. A general discussion of the engineering and biological aspects of the research is presented. The reader is referred to Appen-dices A through D to this report for a more detailed discussion. 3. A total of nine marsh development sites were selected and designed by the HDP at various locations throughout the United States. Six site
