Abstract: In Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs), mobility of nodes, resource constraints and selfish behavior of nodes are important factors which may degrade the performance. Clustering is an effective scheme to improve the performance of MANETs features such as scalability, reliability, and stability. Each cluster member (CM) is associated with only one cluster head (CH) and can communicate with the CH by single hop communication. Mobility information is used by many existing clustering schemes such as weighted clustering algorithm (WCA) Link expiration time prediction scheme and k-hop compound metric based clustering.
