Communicated by the editors Abstract. We give several fixed point results for nonlinear mappings, in particular, we study when a continuous pseudo-contractive mapping has a fixed point and we show that for any equivalent renorming of l2,the well known fixed point free mappings by Kakutani, Baillon and others are not pseudo-contractive. 1
