A wide range of complex distributed applications is emerging in the web environment. The development of web applications is complex and consumes time. However, in most cases, the development approaches used for web applications has been ad hoc. Web engineering promotes the use of a systematic and disciplined approach to reduce complexity, time to market and costs of web applications development. Several researches demonstrate that the Unified Process is the most appropriate object oriented approach to develop web applications.
