Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in modern society. Known risk factors for coronary artery disease include dyslipidemia, hypertension, obesity, dysglycemia, insulin resistance, inflammation, arterial intimal thickening, development of vulnerable plaque and thrombosis. This study compared lipid parameters in CAD patients with healthy individuals to see the predictive power of lipid parameters. Results show that a significant number of CAD patients have abnormal lipid profile. LDL-Cholesterol and Apo-B were significantly higher in CAD patients compared to healthy controls.
