Abstract: The number of patients eligible for knee replacement has increased significantly in recent years and to the lengthening of life expectancy, patient expectations in terms of longevity of the prosthesis and improve surgical outcomes are strong. Conventional instruments have been for years (and still now) a great help to position the best prostheses, but studies show the pitfalls and shortcomings of these instruments; default axis in the frontal, sagittal or horizontal and failing to keep a ligament balance inflexion and extension. Surgical navigation can help control these parameters.
