Suspension system is made to have the ride comfort. The vibrations are not transferred from tire to the passenger if suspensions are good. According to road profile vibrations are transferred through the suspension strut to the chassis (unsprung mass) to the sit and to the passenger. In this case the most important factor is vertical acceleration produced in sprung mass. So, reduction in the vertical acceleration gives the better ride comfort. Thus analysis of suspension is to be done for vertical acceleration.
