"Sharpening Skills..... Serving Nation" Watermarking Techniques for Ownership Protection of Relational Databases

Abstract-- In today’s internet based application environment digitization is growing very rapidly, with that it is very difficult to secure your own digital assets because all the data on the internet is available everywhere with free of cost and anybody can steal your data and claim its ownership. In current digital scenario not only images, video, and audio are in digital form, but relational databases are also digitized and used as a service in the applications, including finance databases, multimedia databases, personnel databases etc. various digital watermarking techniques have been proposed for dealing with security, authentication ownership protection and piracy control of digital contents. Most of literature available in this field is focused on images, audio, video etc. However, with the demand of time database is now required some security solution as it is being transact on the web. Embedding Digital Watermarking in relational database without losing the integrity is very difficult because databases have very little redundancy as compared with multimedia data due to that this field not gets much attention previously. In this paper we survey already proposed database watermarking techniques with certain constraints and analyze their strengths and weaknesses
