The purpose of this paper is to discuss the concept of DISCOURSE in N. Fairclough’s analytical framework of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) from a viewpoint of Articulation Theory. The theory originated from the tradition of Cultural Studies, offering CDA scholars rich resources of thought through which we could enlarge the scope of the object we deal with when engaged in a study of CDA.
