Abstract. Virtual Reality (VR) attracts attention again these days with a new tech-nology called Immersive Projection Technology (IPT) which surround viewers with large screens. In the present paper, the applications of VR technology to scientic visualization is presented. The hardware and the software of a newly developed IPT system is described as well as its application to flow visualization. Also discussed is the advantages of VR for flow analysis.
