At the Sydney Olympics, 545 athletes took 5 or more medicines, including one who took up to 26 [1]. There also appeared to be a misuse of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and there were concerns about excessive and inappropriate use of asthma medicines [1].
