Abstract This paper studies the MGeo/MGeo/1/N queue with a single server, batch Poisson arrivals and service completions and finite capcacity. The distri-bution of the number of customers in the queue at pre- and post-arrival epochs is analysed and closed form expressions for performance distributions, such as steady state queue length distribution, blocking probability and waiting time distribution are derived. Moreover, information theoretic interpretations based on the principles of Maximum Entropy(ME) and Min-imum Relative Entropy (MRE) are given
