Abstract:- While some advanced countries have paid much attention on mercury emission and it’s hazard with regulating major anthropogenic sources, Korea has not been concerning on mercury issues until recent years. The first attempt to develop the emission inventory from major sources of mercury such as coal power plants and incinerators was made by the authors ’ team with Korean Ministry of Environment. At the same time several research organizations including Korea Electric Power Research Institute have made to investigate the status of emission and related control technologies. Very brief inventory data have been obtained so far with their speciation and behaviour to understand the effectiveness of existing air pollution control devices ...
