BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Several recent studies have shown that sonographic con-trast agents may affect transcranial Doppler evaluation of the arterial peak systolic velocity (PSV). Some investigators reported an increase in PSV, and others reported no change in PSV compared with baseline values.
