I show that detection of pancreatic lipase in serum by radial enzyme diffusion, when used in conjunction with amylase clearance/creatinine clearance ratio and alkaline phos-phatase isoenzyme determination, provides a diagnos-tically meaningful representation of several forms of pancreatic disease. AddItIonal Keyphrases: pancreatic disease, differential diag-nosis #{149} ratio of amylase clearance/creatinine clear-ance #{149} liver disease The differential diagnosis of diseases of the pancreas remains an acute problem area in medicine today. It can be stated with some certainty that no single test has the capability of 100 % accuracy in the diagnosis of pancre-atic disease, much less in the determination of the eti-ology of the condition
