large field program for collection of experimental data to evaluate soil erodibility. Rainfall simulation techniques are used to measure runoff and soil loss on experimental plots. Given these data on rates and amounts of soil loss, techniques are needed to estimate model parameters from field data to allow subsequent application of the simulation model in erosion prediction. An optimization method for determining erodibility parameters from field data is outlined
