In this paper I argue that these three nation-states offer a set of distinct and interesting approaches to political pluralism that is often ignored by policy-makers and politicians outside of the three countries themselves. A discussion of the successes and failures of these nation-states in managing this diversity will provide some alternatives to thinking about ways to manage political pluralism. I focus on two very broad aspects: migration and citizenship. This will include issues dealing with migrants from all sorts of backgrounds as well as the state of affairs with Aboriginal/Indigenous people.
