The purpose of the project is to develop and implement a strategy for preventing repeat burglary and motor vehicle crime, in Huddersfield division of West Yorkshire Police. It aims to identify the advantages, problems and compromises involved in translating the prevention of repeat victimisation from a project-based technique to the standard mode of crime prevention delivery across a large police division. The first project report, which was published in March 1995, described the process whereby the project moved from conception to implementation in October 1994 (Anderson et al, 1995).
