The desii, implementation and test results of a simple (A & Monolithic Traasimpedanee Amplifier with, enhanced performancefor high speedoptical communicationsis cleaeribed. A rascode eontlgaration, improved in terms of bandwidth and noise is used. On-wafer aad on-carrier measurements show close agreement with simulated behavior. Excellent performance with hiih trrmsimpedanee gain, a bandwidth from DC to 1.6 GHz, low noise and low power consumption is obtained. The temperature and bm paint sensitivity are negligible. Thii last fact turns out to be a major commercial achievement
