In accordance with the definition of learning objects as relatively small, digital resources that can be reused a number of times in different learning contexts, this paper sets out to extend the notion of reuse to include a number of different users when time and context remain constant. It briefly outlines evidence to suggest that students with English as a second language find the existing print-based learning materials of an example open learning course difficult to read, comprehend, and relate to, and proposes an e-learning support solution based on an evolving approach to the development of learning objects.
