The primary means of reducing risk for type 2 diabetes in adults include establishing and maintaining healthy lifestyle behaviours (e.g. diet and physical activity) and achieving and maintaining a healthy body weight.The evidence to support this approach has been derived from a variety of studies; among this body of research, the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) has arguably been the most influential and informative.
