There is a large body of literature analyzing share tenancy. This literature is concerned with the efficiency of production and the dis-tribution of returns which occurs under the assumption of a landlord class which rents-out its land to a landless tenant class on a output 1/ share arrangement. — ‘l%is,of course, corresponds to conditions which exist in large, irrigated areas of Asia.
