The Exploration on Cultural Product Design with Australian Aboriginal Art

This research focuses on the cultural design, which derives from Australian aboriginal art. The cultural design has been developing which has achieved the culture identity successfully of Australian spirit. Through the exploration of Australian aboriginal art and those successful design cases studies it will offer us the reference of fulfilling cultural identity. For 40,000 years, Australian aboriginals have virtually remained isolated from the rest of the world. Aboriginal culture is recognized as the world’s oldest continuous living cultures. Aboriginal culture is not locked away in a dusty museum but is alive today and presented in new mediums available such as graphics design, souvenir design, fashion design, etc. Art was a very important part of religious life, to maintain traditional representations and styles. It is still in the tradition to represent many of the desert dreaming stories, and the sand paintings have been replaced by paintings on canvas and new styles like dot paintings styles are the most popular modern art styles based on traditional dreaming and totemic representations. Nowadays Australian aboriginal art plays an important role in design field. Aboriginal imagery has been used for more than a century to promote Australia overseas. I believe that it will have the contribution on the creative design with Taiwanese aboriginal culture
