A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is a digital representation of ground surface topography or terrain.\ud It is widely known as a Digital Terrain Model (DTM). There are many methods for obtaining DEM data,\ud such as terrestrial surveying, stereo Photogrammetry, GPS data and topographic maps. The various\ud applications of DEM and the drawbacks of traditional techniques drastically have increased the significance\ud of using satellite images.
