Key words: terrestrial laser scanner, minimal detected movements SUMMARY Observations of geodetic market and new measuring instruments show that the difference in the accuracy of measurements with instruments which use the reflector and the reflectorless ones disappears. The range of reflectorless measurements is still shorter then those with the use of prism but the possibility of recording inaccessible places is, without doubt, an advantage of reflectorless instruments. Laser scanners may serve as an example of such instruments which for a few years have been in the scope of interest of engineers all over the world.
