AbstractüAccording to the traditional gear power split systems with parallel axes, star gear trains and planetary gear trains, we put forward a new power split system of spiral bevel gears and established its mechanical model. The moment equilibrium and deformation compatibility conditions of the system were proposed and the stiffness curves of gear pair were fitted. Then the power split situation of the system was calculated by an optimization method. The power split situations of the system with or without installation errors were obtained respectively, in an example of an aviation power split system of spiral bevel gears.
