Arthroscopy of the wrist and the small joints of the hand is an\ud established surgical technique in the diagnosis and treatment of\ud hand and wrist pathology. The purpose of this review is to highlight\ud recent advances as well as future directions of its use in hand\ud surgery. Current indications include carpal interosseous ligament\ud and triangular fibrocartilage complex lesions, arthritis and selected\ud fractures. As experience with small joint arthroscopy grows, new\ud indications and refined surgical techniques are introduced that\ud address wrist pathology at earlier stages, thus minimizing the need\ud for salvage procedures in hand surgery
