From time to time, public concern has been voiced about the way school-children spend their time, claiming that youngsters stay up too late and then end up going to school tired. Free time is spent at the computer or watching television, leaving little time for physical exercise. There have also been worries about small schoolchildren having to spend afternoons alone once school is over because their parents are still at work and organised after-school club activities are inadequate.
