Abstract: Many information system programs currently teach a combination of structured tech-niques and object-oriented techniques for system development. Very few programs teach complete OOA and OOD concepts based on UML and tie it in with OOP. Consequently many students are leaving the university with an inadequate set of OO skills. This paper describes a curriculum for teaching a complete set of skills for doing object-oriented development. Included are explanations for how to teach the unified process (UP), object-oriented analysis, and object-oriented design in such a way that it directly supports teaching object-oriented programming
